Beau is a carefree, hippie/drug dealer living in Fort Worth, Texas who traffics marijuana from Southern Mexico to Quebec, Canada. While smoking dope one night at his apartment, a friend tells Beau about his encounter with extraterrestrials. The aliens discover Beau has found out about them and they seize his mind and transport it through time into other minds, including Hitler’s and Lee Harvey Oswald’s to drive Beau insane.
Beau escapes their attempts, and this once happy-go-lucky pacifist is now turned into an armed defender. He travels to South Africa to meet with a renowned scientist, who has valuable information about the aliens. Beau discovers the aliens can be destroyed by using a taser-like handgun that emits a fine silver mist.
Beau travels to Silver City, New Mexico to enlist the aid of some old friends. They capture one of the aliens, but a battle erupts. Escaping the fight, Beau heads to Topeka, Kansas where he meets Johnny, a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi tribe.
Johnny has been fighting the aliens as well, though he deems them to be evil spirits. Beau is considered by the Native Americans to be a reincarnated warrior – they call him “He who moves the wind.” This is a direct reference to Beau being able to escape the clutches of the aliens in whatever form they take. Johnny and his warriors join Beau in an epic final battle.
